An Understanding Therapist

I offer a calm, confidential environment in which you can feel comfortable and safe to be yourself.

My style is warm, empathic and involved. Professional, present, and non-judgemental, I give you my full attention.

Our work is confidential and I adhere to the professional ethics and standards of my professional body, including ongoing professional development.

I am a person-centred counsellor and I adjust the way I work to your needs. To do this I draw upon humanistic and psychodynamic principles and approaches, including using techniques from Gestalt therapy and transactional analysis.

Person-Centred

Engaged Counselling and therapy

I am a warm, kind and gentle counsellor. I offer skilled, compassionate, mindful and alert listening. I do not just sit in silence. I actively engage in the relationship between us, and provide feedback. During our initial sessions, we will explore what is not working in your life and what you most long for and want. While working together we may touch into places of sadness, anxiety or stress at times but we may also find ourselves laughing - humour can also be part of the healing process. As one of my clients recently said “I never expected the experience to be so positive or to feel so happy.”

How I Work

As a person-centred counsellor and therapist, I work at your pace, either short or long-term. I offer short-term cognitive therapy, addressing issues such as stress management, assertiveness and decision-making. You can choose a regular slot for deeper therapeutic work to address more distressing, longer term issues.
